more than eight years in the position, the commercial engineer, Andrés Rodríguez, will leave his role as executive director of the union association of Processors and Exporters of Ciruelas Secas, Chile Prunes, to meet new challenges outside the country.
For her part, María Paz Soto, current manager of commercial projects of Chile Prunes, will assume from September, new roles that will lead it to the guild. The commercial engineer of the University of Chile and with diplomas in Marketing Management and Retail Management, has extensive experience of 15 years in activities related to the promotion of exports, trade union activities, international fairs and agribusiness.
María Paz Soto has been in two different periods in Chile Prunes. In the first, more than a decade ago, he assumed the launch of the partnership with the challenge of establishing the first cooperation links with the public sector and private sector actors, supporting the opening of new markets, and organizing the first two versions of ExpoCiruelas Secas, in 2008 and 2010.
“In this second stage, he takes on the commercial, marketing and communications projects in a guild that is positioned, that has developed relevant projects and that is strongly coordinated with the public and private sectors,” says Pedro Pablo Díaz, President of Chile Prunes – and general manager of Sofruco-, who also highlights the remarkable management in the consolidation of the guild carried out by Andrés Rodríguez , whose focus was on growing this industry, opening up new markets, putting a lot of emphasis on raising the quality standards of this fruit, as well as leading marketing campaigns in the main destinations, among many other functions.
Chile Prunes was founded in 2005, and seeks the development of the sector in the long term, through promotion, market opening, information, technical standards and bringing the industry together against common objectives.
